This 65 minute video takes you through all of the micro-meteorology and science behind the art of thermal flying. It isn't always "common sense" or "what seems reasonable" when it comes down to tracking thermals, and using them to keep your sailplane airborne. Learn from the Old Buzzard himself, who is the acknowledged creator of hand launched R/C soaring. In this 70 minute video retired aircraft engineer Fred McClung takes you through the entire process of building a plug, using that plug to make a female mold, and then laying up a composite materials sandwich in that mold to create a finished wing. And all of this is accomplished in a tiny home workshop without any highly specialized tools other than a vacuum pump.
